Licensed Access
Licensed access allows corporate bodies and individuals who hold such a license to instruct barristers directly and without the need for solicitor. Licensed access is similar to Public access save for the fact that barristers do not need to be registered with the Bar Council to undertake such instructions.
If you wish to enquire about instructing us direct, you can speak in the first instance to our Senior Clerk, Simon Duggan. He can advise on the most appropriate barrister for your case and give an initial idea of fees. Once an agreement regarding work is in place a client care letter will be sent to you setting out fully the work to be done and the agreed fee or fees.
Barristers accepting instructions under the Licensed Access Rules do so subject to the Licensed Access Terms of Work. Further information about Licensed Access can be found by using the search facility on the Bar Standards Board’s website (www.barstandardsboard.org.uk)
