MARION SMULLEN

MARION SMULLEN - YEAR OF CALL 1985

Marion has an exceptionally wide experience as a defence advocate. She has acted as a leading junior in a number of high profile cases, including a number of murders, attempted murders, rape, firearms and drugs cases. Marion has already acted as a defence advocate in a substantial number of Police Discilplinary and Courts Martial cases. Having been a teacher before she was called to the bar, she has undertaken a number of cases involving child defendants and child witnesses. She has also successfully argued a number of cases before the Court of Appeal which have become precedents most notably in relation to the case of Jerome Charkes, a human rights case, in relation to the right of appeal where the defendant absconds, and in the case of Ernesto Correlli in respect of the cross examination of a co-defedant. Marion became head of chamber in 2006.

GEORGE ADONIS

GEORGE ADONIS - YEAR OF CALL 1973

George has a mixed practice comprising primarily of criminal defence, family including divorce, children, public and private law, adoption, landlord and tenant, betting, licensing and private international law. George is fluent in Greek and a member of the Cypriot Bar.

CHRIS JOHNSTON

CHRIS JOHNSTON - YEAR OF CALL 1983

A criminal Defence practitioner with some Prosecution work also undertaken, practising mainly in London and the South East. Christopher will work as a leading junior as well as working alone. Christopher's practice encompasses all indictable offences from murder to mortgage fraud with a preferred emphasis on sexual offences. He is experienced in multi-handed trials, video link cases and conducting Courts-Martial.

Other areas include licensing. Christopher has been a pupil master since 1998. Reported cases: Regina v Pommell (1995) 2 Cr.App.R.
