Mini Pupillage

Chambers has a firm philosophy in investing in its future from the earliest possible opportunity. To that end, Chambers offers what we believe to be an innovative and dynamic opportunity for students and others to gain an insight into life at the Bar.

Rather than the routine work shadowing for a week, Chambers offers a more structured week in Chambers commencing the Friday evening before. A talk is provided by members of Chambers outlining what participants can expect in the following week whilst also being advised as to their engagements.

On the Thursday of the week itself, participants will again be invited to attend a talk in Chambers on a specific topic of interest along with a debrief of the week.

We hope that this experience will provide a more rounded experience of life at the Bar, exposing participants to a wide and varied week, whilst allowing them to discuss their experiences with other participants and members of Chambers.

It should be stressed that this is not an assessed mini-pupillage, but rather a modern approach to an essential experience. Participants are expected to have embarked on their university studies and will be required to make themselves available for the Friday evening before and the full week thereafter.

Chambers will run two rounds of applications for weeks in January and July. The application process will take place in October and May respectively for each period. An application form will be available to download from the website once applications are open.

Please note that applications received outside the stipulated times will not be responded to.
