Sheron Mancini stood trial at the Central Criminal Court on a charge of conspiracy to launder £1million worth of gold and silver.
Ms Mancini was stopped by police with her ex-partner David Gale in Belgium in October 2011. When searched Ms Mancini was found to have two gold ingots in her bra. Mr Gale later admitted to a Belgium court that he had placed the ingots in her coat pocket. Ms Mancini panicked when she found them and put them in her bra. After over three weeks of a hard fought trial the jury unanimously acquitted Ms Mancini after only two hours of deliberation.
Marion Smullen was instructed to act for the defendant by Sean Longley of GT Stewart Solicitors.
